Somalia, officially the Federal Republic of Somalia, is a country in the Horn of Africa. The country is bordered by Ethiopia to the west, Djibouti to the northwest, the Gulf of Aden to the north, the Indian Ocean to the east, and Kenya to the southwest. Somalia has the longest coastline on Africa’s mainland.
NIRA or National Identification and Registration Authority, Somalia is strives to cover maximum population of Somalia and issue ID cards for Somalis residing in the country and outside of the country. The issuance is streamlined with a series of scrutiny processes including biometrics and verification. Certificates like Family Registration, Child registration and death certificates can be issued based on this data base.
NIRA has introduced “One-window operation” for obtaining identity documents, it will simplify the process by consolidating all necessary steps into a single convenient service point. This streamlines document submission, verification, and processing, reducing wait times an eliminating the need for applicants to navigate multiple government departments. This approach enhances government efficiency, saves time for citizens, and improves the overall user experience when acquiring official identification.
Through a one-window operation, citizens can conveniently apply for their required documents by visiting NIRA on-site centers or utilizing the MRVS facility, submitting the necessary documents alongside their application form.
Our centralized system will systematically verify and validate citizen data, cross-referencing the information provided by the citizen. Upon successful verification, it will authorize the production department to proceed with the printing of the required ID document.
After document printing, it will be either delivered to the citizen’s provided address or they will be notified to collect it from a designated NIRA center.
