Steps to Apply for Identity Documents

Citizens have two options, they can either visit the nearest NIRA center or option for the MRV van, which caters to more remote areas

The Application Processing Steps

Step 1: Find the nearest registration center in your region and visit the Registration Center for Token Issuance.

Step 3: Your photograph will be captured further in the process.

Step 5: Witness details will be asked from you.

Step 7: Once you have entered your personal details, you signature will be captured.

Step 9: Your documents will be scanned and save into the system.

Step 2: Once token has been given you will be provided with the receipt to further registration process.

Step 4: Your personal information, including name, date of birth, and address, will be entered into the registration system.

Step 6: Your address details will be entered into the registration system.

Step 8: At the registration center, you will undergo biometric data collection, which includes capturing fingerprints.

Step 10: Once your information is verified and cleared, the registration authorities will process your application for the Somali National Identification Card.

ID Document Issuance: If citizen application is approved, he/she will be issued a Somali National Identification document. This document serves as official proof of identity and is often used for various government and administrative purposes. The citizen will be informed to collect his/her ID document from facility where he/she had applied.
